Why does my content get 'good tip' but no clients? Because people remember the tip, not you.
Your content gets 'good tip' but no clients because it only shares value. A tip solves one detail, the viewer nods and scrolls on. Clients buy from someone they have a feeling about: your personality, your tone of voice, your own story and your opinions. Show those, and people remember you instead of the tip.

The good-tip trap
The good-tip trap goes like this: you post a video with a useful tip, someone watches, thinks 'good tip' and scrolls on. You get a like, maybe a comment, and nothing else. The viewer learned something, but a day later cannot remember who taught it.
The tip is not the problem. The problem is that a tip exists separately from you. The same advice sits in a hundred other videos. Someone buying a program worth a few thousand euro is not buying the tip. They are buying the person they believe can actually solve their problem. If your content sounds like everyone else in your field, start with why your content sounds generic.
What separates a tip from a client
| Content that only shares tips | Content that brings in clients | |
|---|---|---|
| What the viewer thinks | Good tip | This person gets my situation |
| What they remember | The tip | You, your story and how you think |
| What they feel | Nothing in particular | Trust, recognition, an opinion they share or push back on |
| What they do next | Scroll on | Watch another video, and eventually get in touch |
| Who else could have said it | Anyone in your field | Only you |
So the job of your content is not only to share value. It is to get your personality across, so people have a feeling about you. Value is why they watch. You are why they buy.
Top and bottom of the funnel: you need both
More views do not mean more clients, and the reverse is common. A top-of-funnel video, broad and accessible, gets more views but fewer buyers. A bottom-of-funnel video, about the real problem your buyer has and how you work, gets fewer views but more inquiries. Source: Menno Kater, October 26, 2026.
The answer is balance. Broad videos bring new people in. Those people then need to be taken along, so their first purchase takes longer. Viewers who have watched for a long time mostly watch the bottom-of-funnel videos, and that is where they reach out. Tip content without personality stays stuck at the top: plenty of 'good tip', very few calls.
What we do differently
Our work starts with who you are, not with the camera. We find your tone of voice and the branding that fits you, coach you on camera, film on location and keep you publishing consistently. If you are only starting a personal brand, we guide that too. Source: Menno Kater, October 26, 2026.
On top of that we do what you expect from an agency: research, scripts, editing, Reels and Shorts, thumbnails, planning, management and reporting. That is the means, not the goal. The goal is that people remember you after a video, not just the advice. See our YouTube agency for founders and personal branding for founders.
For this question, the useful example is the format, not the view count. The cornerstone we made for Arthur and Bryan is not a list of tips. It is more than an hour of their own story, start to finish. That video alone brought in 371 subscribers by October 27, 2026 (YouTube Studio). Two e-commerce founders, Arthur & Bryan, went from $12.5K to $80K per month in 7 months, almost entirely organic. More than 90% of new members came through YouTube. Their full story is in the case write-up.
Check your own content in five questions
- Take your last five videos. Could someone else in your field have said exactly the same? Then it is a tip, not a video of yours.
- Does every video contain something only you can tell: your own experience, a client situation, a mistake you made yourself?
- Do you show an opinion someone could disagree with? An opinion makes you recognizable.
- Do you sound in the video the way you sound on a call with a client? If not, your tone of voice is not in it yet.
- Is there at least one video a month for someone already thinking about working with you, about how you work and who it is for?
For topics that bring in buyers rather than viewers, read optimise for your ICP, not for views.
When this is not your problem
If almost nobody watches yet, personality is not your first problem; reach is. If people watch and click but nobody books, the break is further down the path, and YouTube views but no clients walks through each symptom. If your offer is unclear, even the best video will not help: people feel something for you but do not know what to buy.
Nothing here is a promise of views, subscribers or revenue. If you run a paid community or a coaching program that already sells, look at our growth partnership. What the retainer costs is on our pricing page.
